Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Olympus Mons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Jones might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Telephone Banking. Jim Jones has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jim Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Olympus Mons!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Saam Ante and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mons tries to clinch but Jones is having none of it.

Jones closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
Jones really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Mons is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Jones pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Mons throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Jones blocks it with crossed arms.
Jones lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Mons tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Jones avoids it.

Jones breaks the clinch.
Mons takes one to the side of the head.
We've been told by Jones's head coaches at Xtreme Fight Club (easily best in Amsterdam) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Jones jabs Mons right on the nose. Mons blinks but takes it well.
Jones thuds a left hand into Mons's body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jones throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Mons gets a clinch.
A battle for position here, against the ropes.
Mons misses with an elbow over the top.

Jones's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jones lands with a nice body punch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mons misses with a left hand
and Mons takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Mons tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Oooooh!!! Jones has knocked Mons down with a huge combo! Jones steps away and waves a wobbly Mons back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Mons is rocked!


It looks like Olympus Mons has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mons circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Jones. Mons falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Jones!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jim Jones!
Jim Jones decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
