Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cormac Maguire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kahlua Zordick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maguire comes to the cage accompanied by THE REAL MUTHAFUCKIN G,Eazy-E feat. B.G. Knocc Out & Dresta's Real M. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zordick darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Maguire avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Zordick.

Zordick looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Maguire is holding on to half guard well.

Zordick wants to lay and pray for a moment but Maguire keeps working.
Zordick is taking a breather. Maguire says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Maguire holds on and takes a little breather.
Zordick wants to control from the top but Maguire keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Maguire feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Zordicks jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Zordick chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Maguire can pounce on him.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Zordick gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Maguire goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Maguire on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Zordick. Zordick obviously looking to wear him down.

Cormac Maguire is winning the standup battle so far.
Nice uppercut lands for Zordick. That snapped Maguire's head back.

and Maguire counters with a nice low kick that buckles Zordick's knee momentarily.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Maguire here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Maguire connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Maguire moves into range and connects with a jab.
Zordick misses with a head kick.

Maguire turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Zordick misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Maguire tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Maguire avoids the head kick by Zordick.
Maguire throws a leg kick
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Good leg kick by Maguire there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Maguire throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Maguire will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Zordick goes for a double leg but Maguire avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Maguire continues to drive forward.

Maguire throws a low kick but it's checked well by Zordick.
Zordick throws a head kick that misses.
Zordick's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

That kick from Maguire tenderised Zordick's leg. Zordick is trying to keep his angry face on.

Maguire moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Maguire lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Zordick has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Zordick and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Maguire stalks Zordick and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Zordick's face. Zordick staggers backwards, shaken.

Zordick closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Zordick doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Maguire's Muay Thai looks sharper than normal. He has obviously been working on it in the gym.

Maguire tries to throw a body punch but Zordick avoids it by throwing Maguire back against the cage.

Maguire fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Zordick has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Zordick shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Maguire pinned against the cage. Maguire gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Maguire throws a leg kick that is checked
and Zordick counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Maguire is lucky that one didn't land flush.

The fight stays on the outside here - Zordick looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
