Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ron Dirac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Massimo Paterno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ron Dirac! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Massimo Paterno! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Daniel Franklin and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dirac decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Dirac is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Dirac looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Paterno looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Paterno looking for submissions off his back. Dirac looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's one minute gone in the round. Dirac has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Paterno holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Dirac tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Paterno is trying desperately to improve position. Dirac wants to take Paterno's back but he can't do it this time. Paterno is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Dirac with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Paterno is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Dirac is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Paterno can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Dirac looking for a guillotine from mount but Paterno is having none of it. Dirac is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Paterno has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Paterno! Paterno stopping the sweep attempt from Dirac. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dirac is on top in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Paterno throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Dirac wants to pass the guard but Paterno is keeping the position. Paterno manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Paterno controlling from the full mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ron Dirac dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Paterno enables Dirac to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Paterno manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Dirac sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Paterno's guard. Dirac throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Dirac tries to pass to full mount but Paterno defends it. Dirac is working hard here to advance position. Dirac is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Paterno sees it coming and defends easily. Paterno keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dirac is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Paterno defends it well. Paterno is trying to control but can't.
Dirac is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Paterno sees it coming and defends easily. Dirac is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Dirac swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Paterno is now in Dirac's guard. A big mistake from Dirac there, giving up the dominant position! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Dirac has his feet on Paterno's thighs here. He's pushed Paterno off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Paterno screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
