Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David Valentine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bill Smif!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice straight punches there by Smif. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Smif.
It looks like David Valentine has been cut.
Valentine tries to clinch there but Smif circles away.
Smif misses with a jab, cross combination.
Nice shot lands for Smif.
Smif fails to land with a series of punches.
Smif bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Valentine! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Valentine is rocked!
Smif postures up.
Oh Valentine is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Valentine wants to stand but Smif is controlling the position.
Valentine seems to have got his legs back now.
Smif would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Smif controls from within his opponent's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smif decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Valentine tries to clinch but Smif moves out of range.
Smif circles away from the clinch attempt.
Valentine is looking to clinch but Smif is avoiding it.
Decent striking displayed by Smif there.
Smif keeps the fight on the outside.
Valentine fails with a takedown attempt.
Valentine tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Smif swivels and escapes.
Valentine moves in looking to clinch but Smif pushes him off.
Smif throws a right and a left that Valentine avoids nicely.
Valentine tries to clinch but Smif moves out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Valentine tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smif swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Smif wants to clinch.
Valentine shoots in for a double leg but Smif sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Valentine. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smif throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Valentine stumbling backwards into the cage! Valentine bounces back off the cage towards Smif, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Smif lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Smif celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Bill Smif!
