Hummel comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Hammertim - M.C. Hammer kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hummel scores with a hook to the body. Whitfield takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Hummel drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Hummel keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Whitfield's head.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hummel's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Whitfield is rocked!
Hummel is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Oh Whitfield is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hummel cracks Whitfield with a solid left hand.
Hummel stands up over Whitfield, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Hummel loads up on a big left hand. Whitfield felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Hummel looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Whitfield can't hide his disappointment, as Hummel celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Travis Hummel!
