Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
26 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ilya Murometz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
19 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Hannibal!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murometz forces Hannibal back against the cage and clinches.
Hannibal keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Murometz's efforts to push away.
Murometz tries to circle away but Hannibal has him pinned against the cage.
Murometz looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Hannibal.
Murometz avoiding damage as Hannibal throws knees to the body.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Murometz is looking to break free of the clinch but Hannibal has double underhooks.
A nice right hand lands inside from Murometz.
It looks like Jason Hannibal has been cut.
Hannibal makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hannibal digs a right hand into Murometz's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Murometz's gas tank.
Murometz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hannibal misses with an uppercut.
Hannibal drops Murometz with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Murometz looks back up at him and smiles so Hannibal waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Murometz is rocked!
It looks like Ilya Murometz has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hannibal waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Murometz.
Oh Murometz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Murometz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hannibal tries to avoid it but Murometz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hannibal to the ground. Hannibal escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hannibal knocks out Murometz with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Hannibal before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Hannibal picks up the big W with a huge KO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jason Hannibal!
Jason Hannibal decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
