Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pale Monster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raiden Asuka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Monster comes to the cage accompanied by Therapy . Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monster closes the distance and clinches.
Monster gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Asuka blocking the ground and pound attempt from Monster.

Asuka tries to get to full guard but Monster has control of the leg.
Asuka felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Monster has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Asuka is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Monster frees his head nicely. Oh but Asuka has switched to an armbar! Monster is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
