Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Myles Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Groundswell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick Groundswell! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Russell Pearce and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Groundswell drives through with a takedown into guard. Taylor is trying to keep Groundswell in close.
Taylor looking for a guillotine here but Groundswell defends easily.
Groundswell is looking to work some ground and pound but Taylor has wrist control. Taylor looking for a sweep. Not yet Taylor, not yet. Groundswell trying to control the position from guard on top but Taylor is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Groundswell works over Taylor with some ground and pound from guard. Taylor has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Groundswell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Taylor trying to control the position.
Groundswell is working Taylor over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Groundswell sitting in guard, not really doing much. Taylor had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Groundswell is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Taylor Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Groundswell's back instead.

Taylor avoiding Groundswell 's attempts to control his hands. Taylor is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Groundswell has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Taylor trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Groundswell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Taylor. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Taylor is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Groundswell defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Taylor is breathing heavily. Taylor is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Groundswell needs to remain patient if he's going to get out of this sticky situation. Taylor looking for the choke but no joy. Taylor is trying to stick to Groundswell's back but Groundswell is turning into Taylor. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Taylor's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Groundswell. Groundswell not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Groundswell lands a couple of elbows. Taylor tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Groundswell not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Taylor is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Taylor is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Groundswell controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Groundswell makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Groundswell controlling from the top position. Taylor looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Taylor lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Groundswell! Groundswell wants to hold on but Taylor pushes him away. Groundswell manages to regain half guard. Good work. Taylor is looking for a kimura here.
Taylor wants to stand but Groundswell has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Groundswell is trying to stand back up but Taylor is controlling him
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Taylor is trying to work for a kimura but Groundswell is defending well.

Myles Taylor dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Groundswell closes the distance and clinches. Taylor gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Groundswell.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Myles Taylor. That's going to take a lot out of him. Groundswell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Groundswell feints and as Taylor raises his hands in defense, Groundswell changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Taylor looking for a sweep. Not yet Taylor, not yet. That's one minute gone in the round. Taylor wants to sweep but no luck. Taylor is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Groundswell working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Taylor's head. Groundswell drops back looking for a leg! Taylor is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Taylor manages to kick Groundswell off! Groundswell jumps back into Taylor's guard. Taylor is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Taylor has his foot on Groundswell's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Groundswell works his way back into a safe position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Groundswell trying to control but Taylor is working from the bottom. Groundswell must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Groundswell thows a big elbow that misses. Groundswell wants to control from the top but Taylor keeps moving. Taylor looking to control.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Taylor is on top in guard.
Taylor advances to half guard. Groundswell wants to get back to his feet.

Groundswell looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Taylor seems to be looking for submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Taylor looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Taylor decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Taylor with a poor takedown and Groundswell counters with a nice double leg into guard. Groundswell controlling from the top position. Groundswell trying to control but Taylor is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Taylor has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Groundswell doesn't defend quickly enough and Taylor has managed to lock this one up! Can Groundswell escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Taylor on a fantastic submission victory.
