Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Choi blocks the body kick.
Kalashnikov throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Choi counters with a single leg into guard. Kalashnikov didn't expect that.
Choi controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Kalashnikov wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Choi throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Choi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kalashnikov swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kalashnikov is trying to control the position but Choi postures up.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Choi working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Kalashnikov looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Choi on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

Choi doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Kalashnikov counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Choi!

Choi goes for a double leg but Kalashnikov avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kalashnikov continues to drive forward.

Kalashnikov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kalashnikov wants it to stay on the feet.

Kalashnikov with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Kalashnikov dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Choi. That did some damage!
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Kalashnikov here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Kalashnikov throws out a loose jab but Choi uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kalashnikov ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Choi is defended easily by Kalashnikov.

Choi shoots in looking for a takedown. Kalashnikov tries to sprawl out of it but Choi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kalashnikov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Kalashnikov counters with an outside leg kick.

Choi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kalashnikov tries to avoid it but Choi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kalashnikov to the ground. Kalashnikov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Choi shoots in but no luck this time.
Kalashnikov lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Vyacheslav Kalashnikov is winning the standup battle so far.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kalashnikov keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Choi is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Choi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Kalashnikov throws a leg kick which misses Choi's front leg but catches the back leg as Choi tries to avoid it.

Kalashnikov throws a body shot but no joy.
A solid leg kick lands there for Kalashnikov.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Choi crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kalashnikov - the referee stops the clock and Choi gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kalashnikov. Choi manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Kalashnikov throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Kalashnikov swings for the body but Choi moves out of range.
A jab from Kalashnikov finds it's way through Choi's defenses.
Kalashnikov throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Kalashnikov is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Choi can do to turn this around?
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kalashnikov, as that shot connected.
Choi doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Kalashnikov counters with a body kick.

Kalashnikov throws a half hearted mid kick.
A good leg kick by Kalashnikov.
Kalashnikov connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Choi is still on wobbly legs! Can Kalashnikov finish him?
Kalashnikov lands a brutal uppercut that launches Choi off his feet! Choi tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Vyacheslav Kalashnikov!
After winning the bout, Vyacheslav Kalashnikov thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
