PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Manuel Solomon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephanio Bithotelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Manuel Solomon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Stephanio Bithotelli!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bithotelli clinches with his opponent.
Bithotelli effectively controlling the action here.

Bithotelli pulls guard.
Bithotelli is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bithotelli pushes Solomon off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Solomon on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Bithotelli is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Solomon's half guard.
Solomon won't allow Bithotelli to pass to mount.
Bithotelli perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Bithotelli seems to be looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bithotelli is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Solomon's shoulder. That is not cool.

Bithotelli tries for a kimura but Solomon is defending well.
Bithotelli has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Solomon!
Solomon is desperately trying to improve his position but Bithotelli has a good base and remains in mount.

Solomon is looking to improve his position but Bithotelli isn't that keen on the idea.

Solomon sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Solomon is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Bithotelli scores with a couple of nice shots.

Solomon moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Bithotelli gets to his feet. Solomon looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Solomon darts in looking for a takedown but Bithotelli gets double underhooks and turns Solomon into the cage.
Solomon is breathing heavily.
Solomon with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Solomon gets through Bithotelli's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Bithotelli gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Solomon.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Solomon obliges.
Solomon goes for a takedown attempt but Bithotelli pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Manuel Solomon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Bithotelli throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Solomon tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bithotelli is in Solomon's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stephanio Bithotelli dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Bithotelli throws a solid leg kick but Solomon takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Bithotelli.

Bithotelli swings around for an armbar but Solomon sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Bithotelli's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Solomon tries to stand but Bithotelli is controlling from the bottom.

Solomon has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bithotelli is proving hard to escape from.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Bithotelli stands up and beckons Solomon to his feet.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Solomon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bithotelli is working away from the top position though.

Bithotelli closes the distance and pushes Solomon back into the cage.
Solomon using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Bithotelli has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Bithotelli is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Solomon is aware though and is defending well.
Bithotelli throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Bithotelli wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Bithotelli's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Solomon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Solomon has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bithotelli is proving hard to escape from.
Bithotelli looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Solomon rushes Bithotelli and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stephanio Bithotelli showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Solomon tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Bithotelli just stands there and leans against the cage.
Solomon misses with a knee strike.
Solomon lands a nice knee to the body.

Bithotelli gets control of Solomon's arms and successfully pulls guard. Bithotelli will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Bithotelli decides to stand back up.
Bithotelli walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Solomon checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Bithotelli darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Bithotelli is taking a breather. Solomon says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Bithotelli is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Stephanio Bithotelli comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Bithotelli winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
