The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meeker rushes Newson and presses him up against the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Meeker tries to lock up and control but Newson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Meeker wants to control but Newson is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jase Newson dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Newson scores with a one two! Meeker had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Meeker is rocked!
Meeker takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Oh Meeker is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Newson scores with a jab.
Newson is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Meeker flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Meeker is out cold! Newson holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
