The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Battle looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Kong fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Battle throws a wild body kick that Kong sees coming a mile off.
Kong wants to clinch but Battle slips to the side
and Battle counters with a stiff right hand.
The fight stays on the outside here - Battle looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Battle counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

King Kong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Battle shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Kong eats them both and turns towards Battle to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Battle has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Battle.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Battle swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

King Kong has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bertram Battle is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Kong crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Battle - the referee stops the clock and Kong gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Battle. Kong manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
And that's the end of the fight!

Well Battle has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
