Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Adam Slate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donovan Robertson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Slate! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Donovan Robertson! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Chris Edwards and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Robertson tries to clinch there but Slate circles away.
Slate fails with a takedown attempt. Slate really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Robertson gets the takedown into side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Robertson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Slate tries to get back to half guard but can't. You can see the frustration on Slate's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Robertson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Slate has escaped the position, nice work there. Robertson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Slate knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Robertson working the ground and pound. Robertson landing strikes. Slate struggling a bit here. Robertson has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Slate! Robertson sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Slate is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Total Impact that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Slate wants to hold on but Robertson pushes him away. A nice elbow there by Robertson.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Robertson stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Slate looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. A looping hook to the body misses from Robertson. Slate does a little dance to reset his feet. Sloppy strikes from Robertson. Those never looked like landing. Slate tries to score a power double leg takedown but Robertson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Slate somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adam Slate. That's going to take a lot out of him. Slate has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slate has his takedown stuffed and Robertson counters with a straight right hand. Slate is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Robertson. Slate misses with a takedown attempt - Robertson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Robertson has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Slate is landing a low percentage of strikes. Robertson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Slate. A head kick misses from Robertson. Nice sprawl there from Robertson as Slate shoots in. Slate doesn't succeed with the takedown and Robertson counters by moving into the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Robertson is defending well against a takedown attempt. Robertson prevents the takedown attempt.
Slate jumps guard but Robertson stands there with Slate around his waist. Slate gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Slate wants to control from the top but Robertson keeps moving. Robertson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Slate doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Slate manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Slate won't allow Robertson to sweep him here.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Robertson looking for a guillotine here but Slate defends easily.
Robertson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Slate keeps the fight on the outside. Slate shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Robertson misses with some strikes from the bottom.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Slate is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Robertson actively working from the bottom here. Robertson throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Robertson is staying active underneath Slate, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Slate scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Robertson actively working from the bottom here. Robertson is refusing to be controlled, as Slate sits in half guard. Slate landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Slate working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Robertson gets full guard. Robertson kicks Slate off and gets to his feet. Robertson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Robertson shoots in for a takedown but Slate shows good takedown defense. Robertson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Robertson darts in trying to clinch and Slate counters with a lovely straight right hand! Robertson wants to clinch but Slate slips to the side and Slate counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Slate is looking to clinch but Robertson is avoiding it.

Slate tried to counter with a leg kick but Robertson avoided it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Slate swats away the attempt to clinch by Robertson. Robertson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Robertson wants it to stay on the feet. Donovan Robertson seems to be getting the better of the standup. Robertson clinches up with Slate and pushes him back against the cage. Robertson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Slate tries to bench press Robertson off him but Robertson keeps the position. Robertson swings around for an armbar but Slate sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Robertson's guard. Robertson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Slate defends it easily. Slate controls from within his opponent's guard. Robertson throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Slate looking to sit in guard and control but Robertson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Slate controls Robertson momentarily but Robertson frees himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Robertson is looking to work some ground and pound but Slate has wrist control. Slate lands a decent punch to the body there. Slate is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Robertson is aware though and is defending well. Robertson stands and throws Slate's legs to the side, diving into side control. Robertson working away. Robertson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Slate, who protects the arm well. Robertson connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Slate some visible discomfort.
Robertson misses with the ground and pound. Slate is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Robertson tries for a kimura but Slate is defending well. Robertson sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Slate is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Robertson has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Slate defend it? Robertson steps over the head and cranks it - Slate is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Robertson!
