PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Takeshi Kurosawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malcom Mandoza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kurosawa might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to One Mic. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Takeshi Kurosawa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Malcom Mandoza!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Matheus Silva and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kurosawa looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Mandoza moves out of range as Kurosawa throws a body kick.
Mandoza takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Mandoza is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Mandoza chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kurosawa can pounce on him.
Kurosawa throws a nice inside leg kick.

Mandoza darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Mandoza wants to free his trapped foot but Kurosawa is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Mandoza missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Kurosawa is looking to improve his position.

Mandoza is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kurosawa has managed to free his arm - good work.
Kurosawa preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Mandoza stops Kurosawa from getting back to his feet.
Kurosawa is trying to control but can't.
Kurosawa has his hands clasped together around Mandoza's back. He's all about the action.
Kurosawa wants to get back to full guard.
Kurosawa trying to control but Mandoza postures up.
Kurosawa is trying to stand back up but Mandoza is controlling him
Mandoza works his foot free and advances to mount.
Mandoza throwing strikes here but Kurosawa is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Mandoza moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Kurosawa has worked his arm free - good work by Kurosawa!
Kurosawa is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Mandoza's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Kurosawa is trying to stand back up but Mandoza is controlling him
Mandoza scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Mandoza throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Kurosawa wants to control but Mandoza is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Mandoza missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Mandoza seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Kurosawa is looking for a sweep. Mandoza is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mandoza is looking for a kimura here.

Mandoza is working for a kimura but Kurosawa is defending it quite comfortably.

Mandoza is trying to work for a kimura but Kurosawa is defending well.
Kurosawa is trying to stand up here but Mandoza is controlling him well.
Mandoza not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Mandoza is looking for a kimura but Kurosawa is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mandoza to get the leverage.
Kurosawa wants to control but Mandoza is keeping busy and won't allow it.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Mandoza is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Mandoza throws a big elbow that misses.
Kurosawa wants to sweep but no luck.
Mandoza missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Kurosawa is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Kurosawa wants to get back to his feet but Mandoza is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Kurosawa looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Kurosawa throws a head kick but Mandoza moves out of range.
Kurosawa misses with a head kick.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kurosawa scores with a nice body kick.
Kurosawa connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Kurosawa throws a front kick that sends Mandoza stumbling back into the cage.
Mandoza looks winded!
A nice leg kick lands there from Kurosawa.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Takeshi Kurosawa will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Mandoza steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Kurosawa. That one must have hurt.
Mandoza shoots in looking for a takedown. Kurosawa tries to sprawl out of it but Mandoza keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kurosawa manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kurosawa tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Takeshi Kurosawa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kurosawa lands a big head kick that sends Mandoza tumbling to the mat! Kurosawa takes a step backwards and waves Mandoza back to his feet - he wants the finish!


It looks like Malcom Mandoza has been cut.

Mandoza shoots in and gets a takedown into Kurosawa's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mandoza trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Kurosawa tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Kurosawa is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kurosawa wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mandoza keeps working.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Mandoza looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kurosawa wants to stand but Mandoza has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Kurosawa decides to stand and escape the position.
Kurosawa feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Mandoza's calf.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Mandoza crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kurosawa - the referee stops the clock and Mandoza gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kurosawa. Mandoza manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Kurosawa lands a big head kick that sends Mandoza tumbling to the mat! Kurosawa takes a step backwards and waves Mandoza back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Mandoza is rocked!
Crunch! Kurosawa slams his shin into Mandoza's torso.
Mandoza is still on wobbly legs! Can Kurosawa finish him?
Mandoza is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kurosawa feints a jab and as Mandoza dips his head, Kurosawa unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Mandoza right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Mandoza falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Kurosawa smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Takeshi Kurosawa!
