Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kermit Yates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peterson has chosen The Movement as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kermit Yates! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Patrick Peterson! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Daniel Cesar and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peterson fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Peterson throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Peterson throws a push kick but Yates slaps the foot to one side. Yates shoots in for a takedown but Peterson shows good takedown defense. Peterson blocks a head kick by Yates.

Peterson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Yates sprawls well initially but Peterson persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Yates scores with a few weak punches. Yates keeping control of the position. Yates moves into full guard.
Peterson throwing strikes but missing. Yates has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Yates is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yates sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Peterson defending well though. Yates not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Yates throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Yates seems to be working for a kimura but Peterson defends the submission attempt. Yates missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Yates missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Yates could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Yates thows a huge punch but Peterson dodges it nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Yates is looking for a kimura but Peterson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Yates to get the leverage. Peterson blocking the ground and pound attempt from Yates. Peterson trying to control from the bottom.
Yates sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Peterson defending well though. Yates throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Peterson regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Yates. Peterson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Yates stands up and waves to Peterson to follow him. Yates shoots in looking for a takedown. Peterson tries to sprawl out of it but Yates keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Peterson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Yates is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peterson fails to land the takedown. Peterson moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Peterson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Yates pinned against the cage. Yates gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Kermit Yates has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Peterson. Peterson shoots and misses and Yates counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Yates. Yates can't get the takedown.
Peterson pulls guard. Yates throws an elbow that misses. Peterson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Yates's guard. Nice move by Peterson!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Peterson scoring with punches to the head and body. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Yates is on top in guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Yates accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Yates stands up from Peterson's guard - Yates perhaps looking for a knockout. Peterson lands a nice leg kick that just misses Yates's sensitive parts. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A momentary lapse in concentration from Yates enables Peterson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Yates manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Yates has momentary wrist control but Peterson slips an elbow through the middle. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Patrick Peterson dominated that round. The cut man is working on Kermit Yates's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Peterson tries for a takedown but Yates circles away easily and Yates counters with a shoot takedown. Peterson fights it but they end up in guard. Yates throws a strike but Peterson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Yates looking for a guillotine here but Peterson defends easily.
Yates wants to control the position but Peterson says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Yates moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Peterson postures up.
Peterson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Peterson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yates is trying to control the position but Peterson postures up. Peterson cracks Yates with a solid left hand. Yates pulls Peterson in close to prevent any damage. Yates might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Peterson trying to control but Yates is working from the bottom. Yates trying to control the position here. Yates working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Peterson has passed into half guard!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Peterson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Peterson connects with a nice short shot to Yates's temple. Yates trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Yates tries to lock up and control but Peterson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Peterson wants to control the pace but Yates is squirming around nicely. Peterson connects with a bit shot that sees Yates covering up! More strikes from Peterson and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Peterson is our winner by TKO!
