And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Rick Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Ivan Kurochkin and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas looks to score with a jab to the body but Hartman is just out of range.
Hartman looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Thomas is fending him off so far but Hartman persists. Nope, Thomas circles away and we're back to standing.

Hartman scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Thomas is looking to reverse the position.
Hartman is looking to take a break and control but Thomas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hartman working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Hartman shoots in looking for a takedown but Thomas manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hartman's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Thomas shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hartman as he avoids it easily.

Hartman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Thomas shoots in for a takedown but Hartman shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Hartman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Thomas's waist but Thomas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hartman off to one side.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Thomas tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hartman defends well and Thomas ends up having to push Hartman into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Thomas enables Hartman to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Thomas manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hartman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Thomas tries to avoid it but Hartman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Thomas to the ground. Thomas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jon Hartman.
I think Hartman has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
