Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ondrej Simunek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pete Wentz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wentz has chosen Dance, Dance as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ondrej Simunek!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pete Wentz!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wentz misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Simunek looks to land a right hand but Wentz moved out of range.
Simunek's jab looks to have found its range, popping Wentz under the eye.
A big left from Simunek misses.
Simunek fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wentz manages to avoid it.
Wentz fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Simunek fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Wentz is out of range.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Wentz is defended easily by Simunek.
Ondrej Simunek has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pete Wentz.
Simunek fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Wentz has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Simunek displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Wentz.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wentz has a takedown stuffed.
Wentz dives in and grabs Simunek's left leg, looking for a takedown. Simunek pushes down on Wentz's head and hops out.

Wentz throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Simunek was covering up waiting for the punch and Wentz finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Wentz seems to be working for a kimura but Simunek defends the submission attempt.

Wentz seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Simunek does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Simunek stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Simunek wants it to stay on the feet.
Simunek throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

My spies in 11th Planet MMA inform me that Wentz has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

That was a close round but I would say that Ondrej Simunek will probably get the nod.

Wentz closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Wentz remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Simunek uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Wentz has time to react.
A looping hook to the body misses from Simunek. Wentz does a little dance to reset his feet.

Wentz fails to land the takedown.
Simunek swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Wentz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Simunek tries to avoid it but Wentz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Simunek to the ground. Simunek escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Wentz drops back looking for a leg! Simunek is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Simunek manages to kick Wentz off! Wentz jumps back into Simunek's guard.

Simunek ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Wentz shoots for a double leg takedown but Simunek sprawls well. He's pushed Wentz's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Simunek tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Wentz manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Wentz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Simunek is fending him off so far but Wentz persists. Nope, Simunek circles away and we're back to standing.
Wentz throws a right and a left that both miss.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ondrej Simunek showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Simunek, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
