Lyles connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Maddox seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Maddox looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Lyles throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
and Lyles counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Maddox! He's just covering up as Lyles starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Buddy Lyles!
A relieved looking Buddy Lyles thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
