Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rice Aroni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Aroni counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Aroni bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Aroni lands a nice looking body kick.
Aroni with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Aroni ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Jones throws a leg kick
and Aroni counters with a straight right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones closes the distance and clinches up with Aroni, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes Aroni against the cage but Aroni circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Aroni thuds his right hand into Jones's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Aroni throws a body punch but Jones moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Aroni counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Aroni throws a shot to the body.
Jones doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Jones looks winded!
Aroni connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Jones momentarily.

It looks like Jeff Jones has been cut.

Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Aroni! Jones is out on his feet! Aroni rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Jones is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Jones is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
