Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wrestling Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julio Sobral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wrestling Guy! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
28 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Julio Sobral! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Mauricio Rocha and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sobral throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Guy. Guy tries to counter by clinching up but Sobral breaks away and moves out of range. Nice jab there from Guy. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Sobral, as that shot connected.
Sobral paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Wrestling Guy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sobral moves out of range of the strikes. Guy misses with a hook
and Sobral counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Sobral fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Guy on the side of the head. Guy comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. A telegraphed right hand from Guy misses the target. Sobral keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sobral takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

and Guy counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Guy. Sobral lands on the inside with an uppercut. Sobral throws a punch but it's blocked by Guy. A head punch blocked on the inside by Sobral.

With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Sobral creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Sobral turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Guy dodges the ground and pound from Sobral. Guy takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sobral has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Guy is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Guy wants to control but Sobral postures up. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. The strikes coming from Sobral are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Guy is trying to control Sobral's posture but Sobral avoids it. Guy is not content to let Sobral control the position. Guy sneaks back into half guard. Guy is pressing down on Sobral's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Guy on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Guy tries to get out of the position.

Sobral throwing strikes from guard but Guy blocks nicely. Sobral trying to control the position from guard on top but Guy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Sobral ducks under a wild hook from Guy. Sobral tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Guy fails to land with a series of punches.

Sobral has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Sobral working away. Guy managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Sobral.

Sobral scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. The crowd cheers as Sobral lands an impressive looking overhand right. Guy doesn't seem phased though. Guy takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Sobral tries to move into range but Guy moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Sobral uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Guy. Sobral's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Sobral duly obliges. Nice uppercut there from Sobral.

Sobral looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Oh Guy is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Guy slips under a jab. Guy seems to have got his legs back now. Guy misses with a jab, cross combination.
Sobral drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Guy defends it well. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Guy moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Guy takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Guy throws a hook to the side of Sobral's head but Sobral sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Guy throws the left hand but Sobral avoids the punch easily.

A combination from Guy does no damage. Sobral displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Guy throws out the jab. Sobral walks into a stiff left hand from Guy. Sobral has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Sobral slips a straight right by Guy. Guy throws a left and a right that both miss
and Sobral makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Guy closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Guy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sobral manages to avoid it. As Guy backs off Sobral throws a huge counter combo but Guy manages to avoid it all. Guy throws a hook but Sobral blocks it. Guy is looking to clinch. Guy walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sobral scores with a nice right hand.

Sobral changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Guy throws a jab when Sobral was well out of range. Sobral might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Guy looks to land a left hand but Sobral moved out of range nicely. Guy gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Guy throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Sobral on the side of the head. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sobral wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Boom, another hit is landed. Guy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sobral circles away quickly and effectively. Guy needs to keep his hands up - Sobral had a free shot at his head there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Julio Sobral showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Guy moves in looking to clinch but Sobral pushes him off. Guy moves forwards but Sobral connects with a nice, crisp jab. Good standup being displayed there by Sobral as he connects with a hook. Nice jab there from Sobral. Guy is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Guy throws a wild hook but Sobral just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Guy gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the ropes! The referee jumps in - Sobral raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

An out of breath Julio Sobral thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
