Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Craig Roman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rene Schwarzmann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Craig Roman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rene Schwarzmann!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Schwarzmann gets a clinch.

Roman wants the takedown. Schwarzmann is fighting it off but Roman persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Schwarzmann's guard against the cage.

Roman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Schwarzmann has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Roman has managed to get both his arms back between Schwarzmann's legs - danger averted.
Schwarzmann has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Schwarzmann is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Schwarzmann is looking to stand up but Roman isn't so interested in that idea.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Schwarzmann is trying to trip Roman. He has hold of a leg but Roman is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Schwarzmann persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Roman reaches up to try and control the position but Schwarzmann seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Roman rolls and tries to escape and now Schwarzmann has his back!
Schwarzmann cracks Roman with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Roman from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Schwarzmann is looking to control Roman but Roman is wriggling around and keeping busy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Schwarzmann is looking for a choke. Roman gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Roman manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.

Roman slips a nice elbow through Schwarzmann's hands, connecting with Schwarzmann's forehead.

Roman is fighting to break Schwarzmann's control of his arms but Schwarzmann is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Schwarzmann throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Roman tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Schwarzmann is in Roman's guard.

Schwarzmann feints and as Roman raises his hands in defense, Schwarzmann changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
