Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Matt Hoffa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dave Judkins!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoffa displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Judkins.
Hoffa went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Hoffa looks to land a combination but Judkins avoids it well.
Hoffa is looking to clinch but Judkins is avoiding it.
Judkins lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Judkins feints and as Hoffa raises his hands in defense, Judkins changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hoffa controls Judkins momentarily but Judkins frees himself.
Judkins got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hoffa has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Judkins has managed to get both his arms back between Hoffa's legs - danger averted.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Judkins slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Judkins decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Matt Hoffa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hoffa shoots in but no luck this time.
Judkins gets a double leg takedown into Hoffa's guard.
Judkins controlling from the top position.
Judkins passes into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Judkins uses his free foot to push down on Hoffa's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hoffa.
Hoffa is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Judkins jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Hoffa manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Check out the look on Judkins's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Judkins decides to stand back up.
Hoffa walks forward, straight into a front kick from Judkins.
Hoffa is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Judkins fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hoffa sprawls well initially but Judkins persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Judkins scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Judkins maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Hoffa could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Judkins has cracked it and Hoffa is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Judkins!
