Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Greg Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Baba!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Smith. Those never looked like landing.
Baba blocks the body kick.
Smith defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Baba.

Smith gets in close and instigates a clinch.

It looks like George Baba has been cut.
Baba is looking to take this one to the mat.
Smith doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Smith using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Baba has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Greg Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Baba throws a front kick aimed at Smith's knee but Smith avoids it well.

Despite the aggression on Baba's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Smith tries to close the distance and clinch but Baba swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Smith swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Smith drives through and clinches with Baba against the cage.
Baba wants a takedown.
Baba tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Smith just stands there and leans against the cage.

Baba has Smith pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Smith manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Smith lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Smith's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Smith can't find room to land a body shot as Baba controls the action.
Smith will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Baba up against the cage.
Smith throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Baba tries a body shot but Smith blocks it.
Smith pushes off an throws an elbow but Baba leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Baba has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Smith is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Baba is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Smith pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Baba's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Smith works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Baba showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Smith.

As Baba looks to move away, Smith throws a big counter combo bu Baba just gets out of the way.

Smith moves in looking to clinch but Baba pushes him off.

Baba fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Smith is out of range.
Smith seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Smith throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Baba on the side of the head.
Smith lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Baba circles away quickly and effectively.
Smith connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

and Baba counters with a big head kick but Smith shrugs it off.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Smith. Baba shrugs it off though.
Baba looks to land a right hand but Smith moved out of range.
Baba throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Smith is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Baba can do to turn this around?

Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Baba paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Baba closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Baba thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Baba is looking for a kimura here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Baba moves into full mount! Smith won't be happy about that!

Baba punching from mount but Smith doing a good job of avoiding damage.
You get the feeling that Smith really doesn't like being in this position too much.

It looks like Greg Smith has been cut.
Smith is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Baba is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Smith is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Smith flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Baba anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Smith and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Baba slips an arm under Smith chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Baba has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Baba is squeezing on Smith like an anaconda would it's prey. Smith fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
