Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Johnny Rock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rory OReilly!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Hugh Johnson and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rock getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
No joy there for Rock, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rock throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and OReilly counters with a nice double leg into guard.
OReilly won't allow Rock to sweep him here.
Rock trying to keep a closed guard but OReilly is proving a slippery customer.
Rock is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because OReilly is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


OReilly tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rock sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten OReilly somewhat.
Rock looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Rock's jab looks to have found its range, popping OReilly under the eye.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Rock lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and OReilly has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from OReilly and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Rock wants to lay and pray for a moment but OReilly keeps working.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Johnny Rock.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rock, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
