Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robin Gaia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Palowakski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gaia might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Manowar- Battle Hymn. Palowakski comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Burning Down the House kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Robin Gaia could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Fred Palowakski's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Robin Gaia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fred Palowakski! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Matheus Silva and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gaia slips a jab from Palowakski. Nice sprawl there from Palowakski as Gaia shoots in. Palowakski misses the shot to the body. Palowakski is looking to clinch. Palowakski misses with a body shot.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Palowakski, as that shot connected.
Palowakski looks to score with a jab to the body but Gaia is just out of range. Gaia throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Gaia tries for a takedown but Palowakski sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Palowakski tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gaia swats him away and circles back towards the center. Palowakski looks to score with a jab to the body but Gaia is just out of range. The fighters circling - Palowakski throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Palowakski looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Palowakski rushes Gaia and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Palowakski scores with a nice hook to the head. Palowakski scores with an uppercut up the middle. Gaia tries to pull guard but Palowakski won't allow it.

Gaia tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Palowakski swivels and escapes. Gaia gets caught flat footed, as Palowakski shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Palowakski looking to pass the guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Gaia working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Palowakski doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Palowakski manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Palowakski looking to pass the guard. Gaia preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Gaia is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Palowakski wants to control from the top but Gaia keeps moving. Gaia looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Gaia is breathing heavily. Palowakski wants to control from the top but Gaia keeps moving. Palowakski landing with the ground and pound. Palowakski postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Gaia looking for a sweep. Not yet Gaia, not yet. Palowakski content to stall in guard here. Gaia will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Palowakski stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gaia swivels though and keeps the full guard. Palowakski slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Palowakski passes easily into side control. Nice work. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Palowakski trying to control the position but Gaia is working away. Palowakski moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Palowakski tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Gaia is trying to improve his position. Gaia manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Palowakski tries to get to full guard but Gaia has control of the leg. Gaia wants to free his trapped foot but Palowakski is holding on for dear life with his legs. Gaia wants to work for an arm triangle but Palowakski is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Palowakski wants to control the action here but instead Gaia manages to pass to full mount! Gaia goes for an armbar but Palowakski turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Palowakski. Gaia being controlled here, momentarily. Palowakski drops back looking for a leg! Gaia is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gaia manages to kick Palowakski off! Palowakski jumps back into Gaia's guard. Palowakski working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Palowakski throws a hook to the side of Gaia's head but Gaia sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Palowakski bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gaia's head. Palowakski throws a series of punches but Gaia moves out of range. Gaia with a lazy takedown attempt and Palowakski counters with a straight right hand. Palowakski throws a lazy right hand but Gaia sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Palowakski misses with a few strikes there.
Palowakski throws a body punch but Gaia moves out of range. Palowakski drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Gaia is looking for a triangle but Palowakski pushes his legs off easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gaia looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Palowakski not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Palowakski trying to control the position from guard on top but Gaia is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Palowakski scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Palowakski looking to pass the guard. Gaia is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Gaia had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Palowakski is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Gaia Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Palowakski's back instead. Palowakski breaks Gaia's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Gaia keeping full guard, as Palowakski tries to pass. Palowakski stands and throws Gaia's legs to the side, diving into side control. Palowakski wants to control but Gaia is keeping him busy. Palowakski cracks Gaia with an elbow. That is naaassty. Gaia is letting Palowakski control him for a moment. Gaia tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Palowakski presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Palowakski sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Gaia is looking to improve his position but Palowakski isn't that keen on the idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Palowakski takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Palowakski landing punches. Palowakski is in the full mount, landing strikes. Gaia really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Palowakski is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Gaia can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Fred Palowakski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Palowakski throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. A jab from Palowakski misses. Gaia shoots and misses and Palowakski decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gaia's guard. Gaia throws his legs up looking for a submission but Palowakski uses it to pass to side control.
Palowakski taking a breather here. Palowakski trying to control the action but Gaia is working from the bottom. Palowakski is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gaia has escaped the position, nice work there. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Gaia tries to buck Palowakski off but Palowakski is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Palowakski wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gaia, who protects the arm well. Gaia sneaks back into half guard. Palowakski passes the guard and advances to mount! Palowakski thowing shots but they're missing. Gaia looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Palowakski patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Gaia staying busy and making it hard for Palowakski to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Palowakski is trying to stick to Gaia's back but Gaia is turning into Palowakski. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Palowakski's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Gaia. Gaia thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Palowakski tries to land a sweep but no joy. Gaia postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Palowakski is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gaia, into his guard. Palowakski slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Palowakski avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Palowakski advances to half guard. Palowakski has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Gaia is bucking up trying to escape but Palowakski cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Gaia can't escape the position.
Palowakski looking to control but Gaia is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Palowakski is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Gaia can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Palowakski postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Gaia looks a forlorn figure.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Palowakski controlling the pace for now. A nice elbow there by Palowakski. Palowakski takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Palowakski punishing his opponent with strikes. Gaia working to try and regain half guard.

And that's the end of the fight! Fred Palowakski comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Palowakski has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
