Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mario Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evander Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kane closes the distance and clinches up with Palmer, looking for a takedown. Kane pushes Palmer against the cage but Palmer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kane tries to clinch there but Palmer circles away.
Kane lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Palmer circles away quickly and effectively.
Palmer avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Palmer misses with a body shot.
Kane shoots in for a takedown but Palmer shows good takedown defense.

Palmer clinches up against the cage.
Palmer using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Kane has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Palmer throws a knee to the head but misses.
Palmer lands an elbow just above Kane 's eye.

It looks like Evander Kane has been cut.
Palmer tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Kane avoids it.
Palmer prevents Kane from breaking the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Palmer obliges.

Kane is trying to push Palmer away but Palmer has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Kane told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.

Kane tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Mario Palmer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Evander Kane.
Kane looks winded!

Kane is trying to force a seperation but Palmer has the dominant position.

Palmer tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Kane avoids it.

Evander Kane's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Palmer comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Evander Kane's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
