Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Stone Cold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stone Cold!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Adam Evans!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Paul Gruel and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cold throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Evans tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Cold is in Evans's guard.

Cold drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Evans manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cold has Evans in his guard.

Evans controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Cold avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Cold is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Evans is aware though and is defending well.
Cold controlling the position.
Cold keeping moving, preventing Evans from controlling successfully.
Cold definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Evans missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Cold looking to control.
Evans is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Cold has Evans pulled in close to control his posture.

Cold on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cold tries to get out of the position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Evans trying to control the position from guard on top but Cold is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Cold misses with a takedown attempt - Evans sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Evans drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Cold defends it well.
Cold fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Evans is defended easily by Cold.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cold throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Evans counters with a single leg into guard. Cold didn't expect that.
Evans throws a big elbow that misses.
Evans throwing strikes but missing.
Evans is looking to work some ground and pound but Cold has wrist control.
Evans wants to get up but he can't break Cold's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Evans postures up.

Cold looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Evans postures up in Cold's guard and throws a big left but Cold blocks it.

Cold is looking for a triangle but Evans pushes his legs off easily.

Cold utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Cold shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Evans's guard.
Cold trying to control but Evans is working from the bottom.
Cold is fighting to break Evans's control of his arms but Evans is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Evans is working an open guard so Cold takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Cold drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Cold thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Cold has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Cold shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Evans napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Evans struggling a bit here.
You can see the frustration on Evans's face as Cold controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Cold swings around for an armbar but Evans sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Cold's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Stone Cold will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


Cold connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Evans momentarily.
Cold tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Evans swivels and escapes.
Cold shoots in but Evans avoids the takedown attempt easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Evans! But no joy.
Stone Cold is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Cold shoots and misses
and Evans counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Cold thinking.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stone Cold. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cold darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Cold tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Evans.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cold takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Cold is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Evans doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cold.

Cold seems to be working for a kimura but Evans defends the submission attempt.
Cold is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Evans can do to turn this around?

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Evans shoots in for a takedown but Cold shows good takedown defense.

Cold looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Evans wants to control but Cold is keeping busy.

Cold seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Evans does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Cold stands up from half guard.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Cold.
Cold trying to control the action but Evans is working from the bottom.

Cold wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Evans, who protects the arm well.
Evans gets back to half guard.

Cold is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Evans wants to get back to his feet.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stone Cold dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Cold shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Evans pinned against the cage. Evans gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Evans changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Cold shoots in and drives through. Evans sprawls well.

Cold fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Evans to the ground. Cold is now in Evans's guard.

Cold decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Cold looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Evans is fending him off so far but Cold persists. Nope, Evans circles away and we're back to standing.
Evans displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Cold.
Evans looks for a takedown but Cold sprawls well.

Cold fails to land the takedown.
Evans tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Cold changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Evans looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Evans wants to control but Cold postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Evans gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Evans trying to hold on to Cold's head to control him but Cold postures up.

Cold is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Stone Cold showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cold, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
