The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Santiago Holmes and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Askren has Virtanen up against the cage in a clinch.
Virtanen fails to pull guard.
Virtanen has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Askren regains guard immediately.

Virtanen looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Virtanen is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Askren knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Virtanen on the ground.
Askren is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Askren wants to sweep here but Virtanen controlling him for the moment.
Virtanen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Virtanen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Virtanen slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Virtanen is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Askren looks calm but he's in trouble here. Virtanen gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Askren is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Virtanen lets go of the hold and Askren can pop his arm back in it's socket.

After winning the bout, Keijo Virtanen thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
