Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Anatoly Petkrovic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hideki Higkiko!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, David Hoff and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Higkiko chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Higkiko throws out a loose jab but Petkrovic uses good head movement to avoid it.
Petkrovic tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Higkiko lands with a nice body kick.
Higkiko lands a head kick!
Higkiko throws a leg kick but Petkrovic checks it.
Petkrovic attempts a counter takedown but Higkiko avoids it well and moves away.
Higkiko misses with a body kick.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Higkiko. Petkrovic shrugs it off though.
Higkiko takes a swing at Petkrovic's ribcage but misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Petkrovic fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Higkiko swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
That kick from Higkiko tenderised Petkrovic's leg. Petkrovic is trying to keep his angry face on.

Hideki Higkiko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Petkrovic shoots in looking for a takedown. Higkiko tries to sprawl out of it but Petkrovic keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Higkiko manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Higkiko throws a right hand that Petkrovic ducks under and follows up with a left that Petkrovic also avoids with ease.
Petkrovic changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Higkiko with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Petkrovic tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Higkiko swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anatoly Petkrovic. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Higkiko ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
We've been informed that Higkiko has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Petkrovic shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Higkiko sprawls well. Higkiko wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Petkrovic gets slowly back to his feet.
Higkiko throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Petkrovic chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Higkiko can pounce on him.
Higkiko is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Higkiko cracks Petkrovic with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Higkiko lands a head kick. Petkrovic smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Petkrovic sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Higkiko's guard.
Higkiko wants to stand back up but Petkrovic manages to pass into side control.
Higkiko is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Petkrovic is looking to take a break and control but Higkiko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Higkiko seems a little lost for a moment, as Petkrovic dominates the positioning.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The ground and pound from Petkrovic seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Petkrovic lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Higkiko down.
Petkrovic is looking to take a break and control but Higkiko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Higkiko gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Petkrovic has hold of Higkiko's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Higkiko manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Anatoly Petkrovic overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Hideki Higkiko comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
