Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yokozuna Asashoryu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ultimate Warrior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Warrior has chosen Ultimate Warrior Entrance as his entrance music. Yokozuna Asashoryu has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Warrior drops Asashoryu with a beautiful combination! Asashoryu stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Warrior is looking for the KO!
It looks like Yokozuna Asashoryu has been cut.
Asashoryu avoids the head kick by Warrior.
Asashoryu takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A thudding body kick lands there by Asashoryu!
Asashoryu throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Asashoryu lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
It looks like Ultimate Warrior has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Asashoryu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Warrior is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Asashoryu rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Warrior moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Asashoryu throws a lazy right hand but Warrior sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

As Asashoryu backs off Warrior throws a huge counter combo but Asashoryu manages to avoid it all.
Asashoryu tries to keep at a distance but Warrior has taken the fight into the clinch.
Asashoryu escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Asashoryu looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Asashoryu tries a head kick but it misses.
Warrior walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Warrior cracks Asashoryu with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Warrior moves away from the strike by Asashoryu.

and Asashoryu cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Warrior fails in his attempt to clinch.
Warrior swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Asashoryu counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Asashoryu steps into range and cracks Warrior with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Warrior flops backwards and Asashoryu dives into his guard looking to finish!
Warrior had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Asashoryu defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Warrior is trying to keep Asashoryu in close.
Asashoryu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Warrior swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Warrior slips a straight right by Asashoryu.
Warrior fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Asashoryu, pushing him back against the cage.

Warrior tries to pull guard but Asashoryu forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Warrior has Asashoryu pressed against the cage, preventing Asashoryu from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Warrior has Asashoryu pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Asashoryu manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Warrior changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Asashoryu fights it off and pushes away nicely.

That's time! Asashoryu's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Warrior darts in looking for a takedown but Asashoryu gets double underhooks and turns Warrior into the cage.

Warrior fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Asashoryu, pushing him back against the cage.
Warrior throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Asashoryu blocks it with crossed arms.
Warrior tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Asashoryu's elbow.

Warrior is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Asashoryu pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Horrible takedown attempt by Warrior or perhaps it was just good defense by Asashoryu, which made it look bad.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
