Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Badr Aerts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Issei Sagawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sagawa is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Herb Alpert - Oriental Eyes. Badr Aerts has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Badr Aerts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Issei Sagawa!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Daniel Blasius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sagawa throws a head kick but Aerts moves out of range.
Aerts looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Sagawa closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Aerts's guard.

Sagawa is working for a kimura but Aerts is defending it quite comfortably.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sagawa looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sagawa is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sagawa cracks Aerts with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Aerts definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Aerts knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sagawa on the ground.

Sagawa softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Aerts is out cold! Sagawa jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Issei Sagawa!
Issei Sagawa was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
