Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Glen Starner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Radar Salter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Radar Salter told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
26 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Glen Starner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Radar Salter! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Wagner Zegers and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Salter tries to land a body kick and Starner counters with a single leg into guard. Salter didn't expect that. Salter wants to stand up but Starner is controlling him. Salter uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Salter lands with a right hand. Salter misses with a jab to the body
and Starner counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Starner. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Salter pushes Starner off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Starner shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Salter as he jumps to the side. Starner postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Starner has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. That's one minute gone in the round. We've been hearing that Starner has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Salter is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Salter working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Starner. The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Starner lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Starner.

Salter throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Salter looks to score with a jab to the body but Starner is just out of range. Starner moves out of range of the strikes. Starner doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Salter lands with a hook. Starner tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Salter slaps away a takedown attempt from Starner, before circling back to the center of the mat. Radar Salter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A swing and a miss from Salter. Starner attempts a counter takedown but Salter avoids it well and moves away. Salter throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Salter is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Starner tries to score a power double leg takedown but Salter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Starner somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Glen Starner. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Salter works Starner's body with a nice hook. Starner's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Salter connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Starner scrambles back to his feet. Salter throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Salter scores with a nice body kick.
A big left from Salter misses. Salter closes the distance and lands a one-two. Salter tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Starner was well out of range. Poor timing from Salter. Starner drops down looking for a counter takedown but Salter sprawls and moves away. Salter missing with a left hand there. Starner was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Starner appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Salter misses with a hook. Starner appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Starner throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Salter tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Starner is in Salter's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Starner prevents Salter from getting back to his feet. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Salter pushes Starner off and gets back to his feet.
Salter throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Starner stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Starner misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Salter throws a hook but Starner avoids it easily. Starner moves out of range as Salter throws a body kick.
Salter misses with a straight right. Salter moves away from the strike by Starner. Radar Salter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Salter looks to land a left hand but Starner moved out of range nicely. A left lands for Salter. Salter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Starner circles away quickly and effectively. Starner moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Radar Salter dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Starner takes a shot right to the bread basket. Starner fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Salter looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Salter misses with a hook. Starner ducked under it nicely. Salter listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Starner looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Starner winds up and cracks Salter with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Starner wants to lay and pray for a moment but Salter keeps working. Salter has one foot on Starner's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Salter jabs Starner to the body, keeping him at a distance. Starner shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Salter sprawls well. Salter wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Starner gets slowly back to his feet. Starner uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Salter. Starner attempts a counter takedown but Salter avoids it well and moves away. Salter fails to land with a series of punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Salter misses with a head kick.
Starner shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Salter manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Starner trying to control but Salter is working from the bottom. Salter is looking to stand up but Starner isn't so interested in that idea. Salter keeping full guard, as Starner tries to pass. Salter working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Starner. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Salter wants to stand but Starner is controlling the position. Salter pushes Starner off and gets back to his feet.
Starner is trying hard to land a takedown here. Salter sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Salter lands a nice shot that snaps Starner's head back.
Radar Salter seems to be getting the better of the standup.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Salter lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. A solid body kick from Salter. Salter fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Starner manages to avoid it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Starner throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Salter was covering up waiting for the punch and Starner finishes the takedown easily into guard. Starner is working Salter over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Salter wants to get back to his feet but Starner is in a dominant position and won't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are working up against the cage. Salter manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Salter pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Salter needs to keep his hands up - Starner had a free shot at his head there. Salter works Starner's body with a nice hook. Salter scores with a body shot.
Salter fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Salter lands with a cross. Left hook, right uppercut from Salter. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Salter misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Salter looks to land a left hand but Starner moved out of range nicely. Starner lands a glancing blow to the side of Salter's head. Starner connects with a body shot. Salter misses with a double jab.
Salter is breathing heavily. Starner blocks the body kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Starner drops his hands momentarily and Salter takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Salter scores with a body shot.

and Starner decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Salter's guard. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Salter. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Starner passes into half guard. Starner prevents Salter from standing back up.
Starner wants to lay and pray for a moment but Salter keeps working. Starner tries to pass to full mount but Salter defends it. Salter keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Salter is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Starner scores with a couple of nice shots. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Radar Salter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Salter catches Starner with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Salter takes a swing at Starner's ribcage but misses. Starner feinted with a counter takedown. Salter throws a hook but Starner avoids it easily. Starner changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Salter swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nice straight punches there by Starner. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Starner.

and Starner counters with a takedown into side control. Salter takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Salter is pushing Starner's head away, looking to escape. Starner manages to hold on to the position though. Starner landing a few strikes. Starner working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Salter is trying to buck Starner off. Starner scoring with punches from side control. Starner prevents Salter from escaping the position. Starner scoring with punches and elbows.
Salter is rocked! Starner tries to move into full mount but can't pass Salter's legs. Salter is still in real trouble! Can Starner finish him? Starner lands a nice forearm strike. Starner throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Salter takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. This has been an exciting period of action! Salter is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Starner asserts his dominance and retains side control. Starner scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Salter is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Starner can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Glen Starner! After winning the bout, Glen Starner thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
