Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fred Dragons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Pace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dragons comes to the cage accompanied by Killing in the name. Ben Pace has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fred Dragons!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ben Pace!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pace throws a body kick that misses.
Dragons looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Dragons misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Pace tries to clinch up but Dragons circles away and keeps his distance.
Pace shoots in but no luck this time.

Pace fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dragons, pushing him back against the cage.
Pace looking for a takedown.
Dragons prevents the takedown attempt.
Fred Dragons has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben Pace.
Pace drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Dragons gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Dragons wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Dragons escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pace shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dragons as he jumps to the side.
Dragons shoots in for a takedown but Pace shows good takedown defense.
Pace tries for a takedown but Dragons sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Dragons takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.

Pace shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Pace tries to pass the half guard into mount. Dragons knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pace wants to control but Dragons is keeping him busy.
Pace stalling away here and it's allowed Dragons to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Pace looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Pace looking to sit in guard and control but Dragons gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Dragons has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Pace looking for a guillotine here but Dragons defends easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Dragons working some strikes from top position.
Dragons trying to stand up but can't free himself from Pace's guard.

Dragons advances position into side control!
Dragons controlling from side mount.

Pace is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Dragons's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Pace wants to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pace trying to control but Dragons postures up.
Pace might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Dragons kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Pace gets full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Pace looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Dragons postures up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Pace tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Pace, right into the meat.
Pace is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Fred Dragons seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pace misses with a combination

and Dragons counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

That's five minutes gone in the round.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Dragons lands a nice short elbow.
Pace wants to get back to full guard.
Pace is controlling Dragons's trapped leg to prevent Dragons from advancing to side control.
Pace gets full guard.
Dragons would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Pace is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Pace wants to control the position but Dragons says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Dragons content to control rather than advance.
Dragons tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dragons is working for a kimura but Pace is defending it quite comfortably.
Dragons seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pace does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Pace is trying to get back to full guard.
Dragons seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Dragons decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

That's seven minutes gone in the round.
Dragons shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pace as he avoids it easily.

Pace feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Pace wants to control from the top but Dragons keeps moving.
Pace passes Dragons's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Dragons is not content to let Pace control the position.

That's eight minutes gone in the round.

Pace stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Dragons to get to his feet.
Pace looks to land a body kick but Dragons moved away.
Pace misses with an attempted mid kick.

Pace rushes Dragons and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Pace tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Dragons just stands there and leans against the cage.

Dragons breaks the clinch.
Pace tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Dragons counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Pace is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pace wants to sweep but no luck.
Dragons wanted to stand there but Pace had control of the position.
Pace thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

That's nine minutes gone in the round.
Pace not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Pace is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Dragons preventing the sweep.
Pace is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dragons is controlling him.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Dragons lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Pace at a distance.

Dragons closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Pace moves into full guard.
Pace is trying to control the position but Dragons postures up.
Dragons prevents Pace from getting back to his feet.
Dragons wants to pass the guard but Pace is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Fred Dragons will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Dragons shoots in but no luck this time.
Pace stuns Dragons with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Pace closes the distance but Dragons moves to the side

and Dragons counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Pace bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dragons's guard.
Pace tries to free his leg and advance position but Dragons is retaining full guard.
Pace trying to control the position from guard on top but Dragons is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pace with a nice head shot there.
Pace wants to control from the top but Dragons keeps moving.
Dragons wants to stand but Pace is controlling the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Pace looking to pass the guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pace is in close to Dragons's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Pace trying to control but Dragons is working from the bottom.
Pace looking to pass the guard.
Pace wants to control from the top but Dragons keeps moving.
Pace postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Pace fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dragons falls off balance throwing a combination

and Pace counters with a shoot takedown. Dragons fights it but they end up in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pace pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dragons is keeping the position for now.

Pace stands up from Dragons's guard - Pace perhaps looking for a knockout.
Pace doesn't manage to clinch there - Dragons circles away.
Pace lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Pace lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Dragons is looking to close the distance but Pace sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Dragons crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Dragons is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
