Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chalky White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Chalky White!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Daniel Brown!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
White swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Brown misses with a straight right.
White walks into a jab.
Brown scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Brown fails with a takedown attempt.

Brown tries to keep at a distance but White has taken the fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brown wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but White has him pressed against the cage.
White digs a right hand into Brown's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Brown's gas tank.

Brown lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

White is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Brown's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

White closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Brown quickly recovers to half guard.

Brown holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

We've been hearing that White has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Brown tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Brown has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That was a close round but I would say that Chalky White will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Daniel Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Daniel Brown showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

White shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Brown eats them both and turns towards White to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. White connects with a nice short shot to Brown's temple.

Chalky White overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
White is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
