Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Oleg Alekseev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Frazier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alekseev comes to the cage accompanied by Imperium. Joe Frazier has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 16 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Oleg Alekseev!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 10 - 1, fighting out of New York, Joe Frazier!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frazier lands with a slapping head kick.


It looks like Oleg Alekseev has been cut.
Alekseev fails with the takedown.
Alekseev throws out a loose jab but Frazier uses good head movement to avoid it.

Alekseev is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Frazier's half guard.

Alekseev is looking for a kimura but Frazier is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Alekseev to get the leverage.

Alekseev is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Frazier doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Alekseev.
Alekseev has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Frazier is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Alekseev is controlling the pace.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Frazier is trying to get back to full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Alekseev on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Alekseev jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Frazier walks away with a smile on his face. Alekseev gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Alekseev fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Frazier avoids it really well and circles away.
Frazier doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Oleg Alekseev. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Alekseev tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Frazier swivels and escapes.
Frazier is looking for the big counter here.
The fighters circle momentarily. Frazier darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Alekseev shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Alekseev was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Frazier is looking for a sweep.
Alekseev is looking to take a break and control but Frazier is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Frazier on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Alekseev misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Alekseev is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Frazier has escaped the position, nice work there.
Frazier is looking to regain half guard here but Alekseev keeps moving and retains side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Frazier managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Alekseev.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Frazier keeps the fight on the outside.
Frazier is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Alekseev.
No joy there for Alekseev, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Alekseev throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Alekseev.
Alekseev is looking to take a break and control but Frazier is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The strikes coming from Alekseev are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Frazier is trying to control Alekseev's posture but Alekseev avoids it.
Sloppy strikes there by Alekseev.

Alekseev misses with the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Frazier is not content to let Alekseev control the position.

Alekseev tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Alekseev goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Frazier rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Alekseev's guard! Nice work there by Frazier!
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Alekseev here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Frazier stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Alekseev swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Frazier avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Alekseev might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Frazier got a little sloppy there for a moment and Alekseev has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Frazier has managed to get both his arms back between Alekseev's legs - danger averted.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Alekseev has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Frazier doesn't defend quickly enough and Alekseev has managed to lock this one up! Can Frazier escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Alekseev on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Oleg Alekseev!
