The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Emerson Jorge and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson scores with a one two! Joaquin had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Anderson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Joaquin unleashes a big counter combination but Anderson bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

and Joaquin counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Anderson has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Joaquin is on him like a limpet, forcing Anderson back against the cage.

Joaquin goes for a takedown attempt but Anderson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Joaquin wants the takedown. Anderson is fighting it off but Joaquin persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Anderson's guard against the cage.

You get the feeling that Anderson really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Joaquin is cranking Anderson's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Anderson! He's tightened the choke and Anderson is tapping out!
