Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Egill Dagursson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauricio Costa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dagursson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Spirit of the Hawk. Egill Dagursson could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Mauricio Costa's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dagursson's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Dagursson duly obliges.

Costa rushes Dagursson and presses him up against the cage.
Dagursson tries to break free but Costa pushes him back against the cage.
Costa looking for a takedown.
Dagursson tries to circle away but Costa has him pinned against the cage.
Costa tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dagursson smiles and moves away.

Costa tries to advance to mount but Dagursson denies him.

Costa looks to land a strike but Dagursson avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Costa feints a jab promting Dagursson to slip. Costa then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Dagursson slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

It looks like Egill Dagursson has been cut.
Costa shoots in looking for a takedown but Dagursson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Costa's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Dagursson throws a right hand that Costa ducks under and follows up with a left that Costa also avoids with ease.
Dagursson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dagursson wants it to stay on the feet.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dagursson feints a jab promting Costa to slip. Dagursson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Costa slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Costa shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dagursson sprawls well. Dagursson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Costa gets slowly back to his feet.

Costa takes the fight into the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Egill Dagursson will probably get the nod.

Costa bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Dagursson is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Costa creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Dagursson sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dagursson is looking to regain half guard here but Costa keeps moving and retains side control.

Costa has an Americana. Dagursson didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Costa is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Costa hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
