Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Asano Arai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Bourque (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arai comes to the ring accompanied by Fantastic Baby - BIG BANG. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Asano Arai! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Adam Bourque! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Matheus Silva and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arai wants to slow Bourque down by chopping away at his legs. Arai throws a series of strikes that have Bourque backpedaling.
A solid body kick from Arai. Arai fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bourque manages to avoid it. Bourque doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Arai keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Arai dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Bourque on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Arai. Arai obviously looking to wear him down.
Arai fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bourque has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Bourque has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Arai. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bourque throws a hook to the side of Arai's head but Arai sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Arai thows a leg kick but Bourque checks it and Bourque counters with a three punch combo that has Arai backing up. Arai nods at Bourque to acknowledge the strikes. Bourque throws a series of punches but Arai avoids them all with ease.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bourque misses the jab. Arai is looking to counter with a body kick. Arai fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bourque, pushing him back against the ropes. Arai scores with a shoulder strike. Arai is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Bourque pulls him back up using the underhooks. Arai lands with a short head shot on the inside. Arai is working for takedown but Bourque is calmly controlling the position for now. Arai misses with a body punch.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Asano Arai. That's going to take a lot out of him. Arai working some nice short punches in the clinch. Arai misses with the head strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Arai tries to score a body lock takedown but Bourque shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Arai misses with a punch on the inside.

Bourque is fighting off a takedown attempt but Arai is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Bourque to the mat. Bourque regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Arai wants to control from the top but Bourque keeps moving. Arai content to stall in guard here. Bourque not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arai throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Arai scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Arai wants to control from the top but Bourque keeps moving. Arai with a flurry of punches that miss.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Arai throws a leg kick that misses. Arai throws out a leg kick but Bourque moves out of range and Arai only half commits. Bourque misses with a right hand and Arai counters with a straight right hand. Bourque showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Arai.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Arai manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bourque on his heels. He'll look to pass Bourque's guard now, I'm sure. Arai loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Arai postures up in Bourque's guard and throws a big left but Bourque blocks it. Arai slips nicely into half guard. Arai looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Arai throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Asano Arai dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Bourque connects with a body shot. Arai lands with a right hand. Arai scores with a kick to the midsection. Bourque has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Arai throws a body punch but Bourque moves out of range. Bourque misses with a right hand and Arai counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Arai throws out a powerful jab. Bourque keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Arai fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
It seemed like Bourque was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. This has been an exciting period of action! Arai misses with a kick to the body.
The fighters circle momentarily. Arai darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arai drives through with a takedown into Bourque's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Bourque is rocked! Arai passes easily into side control. Nice work. Arai is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bourque can do to turn this around? Arai in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Arai has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Arai wants to control but Bourque is keeping him busy. Arai throwing strikes but missing, from side control. That's two minutes gone in the round. Bourque is trying to get back to half guard. Arai wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bourque, who protects the arm well. Arai is looking to take a break and control but Bourque is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arai is really struggling to control Bourque but he's trying to hold on to the position. Arai is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bourque knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Arai tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Asano Arai overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Arai is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bourque has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Arai throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Bourque works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Arai throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Arai is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Asano Arai dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Arai ducks right into an uppercut from Bourque. Bourque throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Arai is looking to counter with head kicks. No joy there for Arai, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bourque looks to score with a jab to the body but Arai is just out of range. A bone on bone clash there as Bourque blocks the leg kick.
Arai works Bourque's body with a nice hook. Arai jabs Bourque right on the nose. Bourque blinks but takes it well. Arai looking to land some kicks to the body here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Arai looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Bourque trying to control from the bottom.

Bourque has one of Arai's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage. Adam Bourque has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Arai wants to control but Bourque is keeping him busy. Arai is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bourque has escaped the position, nice work there.

Arai looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Arai tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Arai has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Bourque wants to control but Arai postures up. Arai trying to control the action but Bourque is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Bourque on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Arai is looking to slow Bourque down with leg kicks. Arai swings and misses with a hook to the body.
And that's the end of the fight! Asano Arai showed his dominance in that final round. Well Arai has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
