The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Thiago Cunha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calderwood shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nicolau sprawls well. Nicolau wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Calderwood gets slowly back to his feet.
As Calderwood tries to get set, Nicolau tries to push him back and clinch up but Calderwood manages to avoid the attempt.
Calderwood gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Calderwood can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nicolau controls the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nicolau swings around for an armbar but Calderwood sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Nicolau's guard.
