Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lex Layser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Narcizo Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lex Layser!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Narcizo Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas slips a jab from Layser.
Thomas blocks a jab.

Thomas closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Layser's guard.

Layser looking to control.

Thomas is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Thomas advances position into side control!

Thomas is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Layser has escaped the position, nice work there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Thomas is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Layser is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Layser tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Thomas tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Layser is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Ironfist MMA , so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Thomas working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Layser is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Layser wants to control but Thomas postures up.

Thomas tries for a kimura but Layser is defending well.

Thomas is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Layser has escaped the position, nice work there.

Thomas looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Layser tries to improve position but can't.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Layser struggling a bit here.

Thomas wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Layser, who protects the arm well.

Thomas swings around for an armbar but Layser sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Thomas's guard.
Layser in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Layser throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Thomas works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Layser is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Layser with a flurry of punches that miss.

Thomas has his foot on Layser's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Layser works his way back into a safe position though.
Layser postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Layser in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Thomas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Layser doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Layser manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Layser wants to control from the top but Thomas keeps moving.

Thomas has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Layser can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Layser got a little sloppy there for a moment and Thomas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Layser has managed to get both his arms back between Thomas's legs - danger averted.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Layser connects with a couple of short punches.

Thomas looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Narcizo Thomas dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Layser throws a one two combo.
Thomas takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Thomas is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Layser scores with a jab to the jaw.
Layser's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Layser duly obliges.
Layser lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Thomas fails with a takedown attempt.
Thomas looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Thomas is defended easily by Layser.
Lex Layser has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Narcizo Thomas.

and Layser counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Layser throws a series of punches but Thomas avoids them all with ease.
Thomas is breathing heavily.

Thomas misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Lex Layser is winning the standup battle so far.

Thomas looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Layser is fending him off so far but Thomas persists. Nope, Layser circles away and we're back to standing.
Layser is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Narcizo Thomas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Layser lands with a straight right. Thomas didn't see that one coming.
Layser lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Thomas uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Layser.
Layser jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Thomas fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Layser avoids it really well and circles away.
Layser lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Layser throws a series of punches but Thomas moves out of range.
Layser wants to land a leg kick but Thomas is out of range.
Thomas goes for a double leg but Layser avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Layser continues to drive forward.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Thomas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Layser as he jumps to the side.

Layser lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Thomas fails to land the takedown.
Layser tries to clinch there but Thomas circles away.
Layser lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Layser misses with a hook. Thomas ducked under it nicely.
Layser is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Thomas can do to turn this around?

Layser jabs Thomas to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Thomas is still on wobbly legs! Can Layser finish him?
Layser works over Thomas's head and body with a nice combination.
Layser drops Thomas with a naaaaasty hook - Thomas is in real trouble here! Layser dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lex Layser!
A very excited looking Lex Layser made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
