3 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, AleksandrMessi KarelinPalmeiras! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paulsen Ambrosius and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Struve's jab looks to have found its range, popping KarelinPalmeiras under the eye. Struve blocks a head kick by KarelinPalmeiras.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Struve closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Struve lands in his opponent's guard. Struve trying to control but KarelinPalmeiras is working from the bottom. KarelinPalmeiras keeping full guard, as Struve tries to pass. KarelinPalmeiras not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

We've been hearing good reports from Struve's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Struve thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed KarelinPalmeiras's head. Struve is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Struve stops KarelinPalmeiras from getting back to his feet.
Struve seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but KarelinPalmeiras does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Struve throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Struve works his way into full mount! Struve working KarelinPalmeiras over with strikes here. Struve has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. KarelinPalmeiras gets slowly back to his feet. Struve decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Struve seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Struve sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. KarelinPalmeiras defending well though. Struve wants to control but KarelinPalmeiras is keeping him busy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Still in half guard, Struve seems content to control.

Struve is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so KarelinPalmeiras is just riding it out for now. Struve eventually gives up the hold. Struve will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

He's concentrating on that move too much though and Struve pushes past his half guard into mount! Struve has isolated one of KarelinPalmeiras's arms. KarelinPalmeiras looking to fight him off but Struve twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
