Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Claudio Guerra! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joey Tribiani! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Chad Campbell and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Guerra circles away from the clinch attempt and Guerra counters with a left to the body. Tribiani feints and as Guerra raises his hands in defense, Tribiani changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Tribiani preventing the sweep. Guerra really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Guerra looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Tribiani is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Guerra is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Tribiani is aware though and is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guerra looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Tribiani slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Tribiani taking a breather here. Tribiani is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Guerra has escaped the position, nice work there. Tribiani controls the position from side control. Tribiani has knee on belly and moves into mount. Guerra is desperately trying to improve his position but Tribiani has a good base and remains in mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tribiani pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Tribiani controlling from the full mount. Tribiani lands a big elbow. Tribiani content just to control the position here. Tribiani's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tribiani pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Guerra is rocked! Tribiani controlling the position easily from mount. Oh Guerra is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Tribiani connects with a bit shot that sees Guerra covering up! More strikes from Tribiani and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Tribiani is our winner by TKO!
