Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay Merel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Jong Un (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jong Un has chosen DPRKorean National Anthem as his entrance music. Kim Jong Un is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Merel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kim Jong Un!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Merel looks to land a right hand but Jong Un moved out of range.
Despite the aggression on Jong Un's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jong Un looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Jong Un fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Merel to the ground. Jong Un is now in Merel's guard.
Merel is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been hearing good reports from Merel's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Jong Un tries to score a power double leg takedown but Merel sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jong Un somewhat.

Jong Un tries to pull guard but Merel holds him up against the cage and eventually Jong Un drops back down to his feet.

Merel is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
