PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bread Panterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harry Ferris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bread Panterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Harry Ferris!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferris cracks Panterson with a good jab.
Panterson on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Ferris. Ferris obviously looking to wear him down.
Ferris's coach down at Noble Intentions was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Ferris's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Harry Ferris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ferris enables Panterson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ferris manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Ferris wants to stand but Panterson is controlling the position.
Panterson pushes down on Ferris's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Panterson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Panterson content to control rather than advance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ferris is in trouble now - Panterson has advanced to mount!
Panterson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Panterson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ferris is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Ferris in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Ferris is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Panterson lands a nice shot to the head.
Panterson moves to the back position.
Panterson trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Ferris doesn't escape.

Ferris is trying to defend against the choke here but Panterson has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Panterson Tightens the hold and Ferris taps out furiously! Panterson displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Bread Panterson!
