Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Denis Carney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tisma Vortetesten (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Denis Carney has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Denis Carney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tisma Vortetesten!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Radbod Blank and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vortetesten has Carney up against the cage in a clinch.

Vortetesten is trying to trip Carney. He has hold of a leg but Carney is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Vortetesten persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Vortetesten content to stall in guard here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Carney looking for subs off his back but Vortetesten has passed one foot through into half guard.

Vortetesten trying to control the pace.

Vortetesten is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Carney sees it coming and defends easily.
Carney is looking for a sweep. Vortetesten is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Vortetesten in particular looking to stall.
Vortetesten trying to mount his opponent but Carney defends it.
Carney wants to stand back up but Vortetesten manages to pass into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Vortetesten landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Vortetesten works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Vortetesten slows the pace down.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Carney gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

No luck for Vortetesten with that takedown attempt.
Carney tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Vortetesten manages to circle out of the way.
Carney throws a head kick that misses.
Vortetesten tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Vortetesten throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Carney's waist but Carney gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vortetesten off to one side.
Carney half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Carney throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Vortetesten's head.
Vortetesten takes a kick to the side of the head.

The fight stays on the outside here - Vortetesten looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Denis Carney has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tisma Vortetesten.

Carney throws a sloppy head kick and Vortetesten moves out of range easily.
Carney really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
No luck for Vortetesten with that takedown attempt.

Vortetesten closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Carney to the mat! Carney manages to get full guard.
Carney is striking but Vortetesten is not phased and passes to half guard.

Carney is trying to get back to full guard.
Carney throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Vortetesten is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Vortetesten wants to free his trapped foot but Carney is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Vortetesten winds up and cracks Carney with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Vortetesten keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Carney is refusing to be controlled, as Vortetesten sits in half guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Nice sprawl there from Carney as Vortetesten shoots in.
Horrible takedown attempt by Vortetesten or perhaps it was just good defense by Carney, which made it look bad.
Carney throws a quick counter head kick but Vortetesten was just out of range.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Vortetesten.
Vortetesten closes the distance looking to clinch
enabling Carney to counter with a crisp jab.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Vortetesten has his takedown stuffed
and Carney counters with a left and a right that stings Vortetesten.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Denis Carney dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Vortetesten fails to land the takedown.
Vortetesten shoots in looking for a takedown. Carney tries to sprawl out of it but Vortetesten keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carney manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Carney darts in and clinches Vortetesten up against the cage.

Carney goes for a takedown in the clinch but Vortetesten prevents it.
Carney is trying to maintain a safe position but Vortetesten gets an underhook and turns Carney into the cage.
A body shot lands from Carney.
Carney lands a hook that snaps the head of Vortetesten backwards.

Carney misses with an elbow over the top.
Carney jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Vortetesten walks away with a smile on his face. Carney gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Vortetesten shoots in and drives through. Carney sprawls well.

Carney drives through and clinches with Vortetesten against the cage.

Vortetesten works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Vortetesten is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Vortetesten trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

and Carney counters with a three punch combo that has Vortetesten backing up. Vortetesten nods at Carney to acknowledge the strikes.
