The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia wants to clinch up but Vercini keeps it at a distance.
Vercini changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Garcia dives in and scores a takedown into Vercini's guard.

Garcia drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Vercini dives on top into guard.

Garcia throws his legs up looking for a submission but Vercini uses it to pass to side control.
Garcia tries to bench press Vercini off him but Vercini keeps the position.
Vercini is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Garcia will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Vercini's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Garcia tries to bench press Vercini off him but Vercini keeps the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee asks Vercini politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Vercini prefers to stall for the moment though.
