Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Woodrow Daniels! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Crimson Grim! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Sergei Dronov and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grim has his takedown stuffed and Daniels counters with a body kick that stops Grim in his tracks momentarily. Grim moves into range and clinches up with Daniels. Grim has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Daniels is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Daniels goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Daniels is looking to break free of the clinch but Grim has double underhooks. Grim jumps guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Grim looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Grim looking for a sweep. Not yet Grim, not yet. Daniels is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Grim avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Daniels preventing the sweep. Grim throws a sloppy head kick and Daniels counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Daniels is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Grim sees it coming and defends easily. Grim tries to roll over but Daniels keeps him under control. Daniels is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Grim doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Daniels. Daniels is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Daniels will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Daniels is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Daniels is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Grim is just riding it out for now. Daniels eventually gives up the hold. Daniels is working for a kimura here but Grim manages to reverse the position and he's now in Daniels's guard.

Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Daniels is trying to control the position but Grim postures up. Grim tries to circle away but Daniels has him pinned against the cage. Daniels wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Grim has him pressed against the cage. Grim keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Daniels's efforts to push away. Grim tries to pull guard but Daniels forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Woodrow Daniels has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Crimson Grim. Grim can't get the takedown.

Grim shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Daniels's guard. Grim wanted to stand there but Daniels had control of the position. Daniels is striking from the bottom but Grim uses the opportunity to pass into half guard. Woodrow Daniels overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Grim prevents Daniels from improving his position.

Daniels looking for submissions from an awkward position here. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Grim stalling away here and it's allowed Daniels to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Crimson Grim. Well Daniels has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
