Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Altare (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo Guzman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Altare could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Hugo Guzman's chin.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Altare!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hugo Guzman!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jorge Garcia and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Altare scores with the left hand. Guzman knows he should have avoided that one.
Guzman scoring well with a low kick there.
Hugo Guzman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Guzman moves away from the strike by Altare.
Guzman dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Altare chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Guzman can pounce on him.
Altare takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Altare definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Guzman swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Altare swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Altare blocks a jab.
Altare lets loose with a powerful body kick. Guzman will feel that in the morning.
Guzman lands a nice hook to Altare's body. Altare takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Guzman lands with a good body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Guzman connects with a jab.
Guzman throws a poor cross that misses
and Altare counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Altare takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Guzman wants to land a leg kick but Altare is out of range.
A quick step to the side and Altare tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
A solid leg kick lands there for Guzman.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Guzman swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
An inside leg kick lands from Guzman.
Altare scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Guzman chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Altare misses with a hook. Guzman ducked under it nicely.
Guzman stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Altare.
Guzman slips a jab from Altare.
Guzman shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Guzman moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Guzman is rocked!
Altare cracks Guzman with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Guzman tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Altare pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Guzman is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Altare!
John Altare retains his middleweight title!
An out of breath John Altare thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
