PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Newt Boone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vasily Rohdin Bibby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Russell Pearce and Anthony Taglia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bibby tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Boone defends well and Bibby ends up having to push Boone into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Bibby misses the jab.
Boone seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Bibby throws a series of punches but Boone avoids them all with ease.
Boone fails in his attempt to clinch.
Boone tries to clinch up but Bibby circles away and keeps his distance.

Boone fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bibby, pushing him back against the cage.

Boone pulls guard.
Bibby wants to pass the guard but Boone is keeping the position.
Bibby throws a big right hand that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boone bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bibby's guard.

Bibby is pulling down on Boone's head. It's preventing any offense from Boone, at least for the moment.
Bibby wants to sweep but no luck.

Boone trying to stand up but can't free himself from Bibby's guard.
Bibby is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Bibby wants to pass the guard but Boone is defending well.

Bibby throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Boone works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Bibby is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Bibby stands up over Boone, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Boone on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Boone tries to get out of the position.
Boone is trying to keep Bibby in close.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bibby avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Bibby passes Boone's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Bibby thows a huge punch but Boone dodges it nicely.

Bibby wants to take a breather but Boone is having none of it.
Bibby working over Boone with some ground and pound. Boone looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Bibby looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Boone with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bibby thows a huge punch but Boone dodges it nicely.
Bibby is trying to control the action in half guard but Boone is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Bibby is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Boone defends it well.
Bibby is nestled in close to Boone, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Bibby is keen to just control but Boone is a slippery customer.

Bibby has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Boone defend it? Bibby steps over the head and cranks it - Boone is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Bibby!

In his post fight interview, Vasily Rohdin Bibby started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
