The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hopkins is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Athos looks to throw the jab but Hopkins is out of range.
Athos avoids a punch combination nicely.
Athos rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hopkins moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Athos takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Athos misses with a looping right.
Horrible takedown by Athos or perhaps it was just good defense by Hopkins which made him look bad.
Hopkins misses the shot to the body.
Hopkins cracks Athos with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Hopkins misses with a wild body shot.
Hopkins lands with a big left! Athos is wobbled badly! Hopkins comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Athos to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
